Our Counselors

Our staff is comprised of young and energetic teachers and coaches, as well as upper-class college students. We conduct extensive screening and training, with the assistance of nationally known experts in child and teen development. At least one of our counselors is a certified lifeguard, and they are all chosen to complement each other with their varied skill sets. We select people who can keep the fun happening, but who also encourage teen travelers to develop valuable life skills. As a result, our staff members are positive role models who build both physical and emotional "safety nets" for teens, so everyone feels like an important and respected part of the group.

Once on the road, Lisa and Herb are always in touch with the camp office by phone and in touch with their counselors via walkie-talkies. We treat communication as the key component to a smoothly operated travel experience. No matter where our Cross Country travelers may be -- across the state or all the way across the country -- we can reach them within minutes!
